The UCD School of Politics and International Relations (SPIRe) is the oldest and the largest school of its kind in Ireland, ranked well within the global top 100. It is a dynamic, multi-faceted and highly international school offering programmes of study at undergraduate and graduate levels. The academic staff is engaged in research on a wide variety of political issues, including ethno-political conflict, human rights, trade, development, comparative politics, international relations, gender and security, and EU politics. The School is also home to three research centres: The Dublin European Institute, the UN-linked Sustainable Development Academic Solutions Centre, and the Institute of British-Irish Studies.
