Centre for European Studies

Renmin University of China (RUC) is one of the leading higher education institutions in China, with strengths in the social sciences and humanities.

The Centre for European Studies was established in 1994 and later became the only key research institute for European Studies in Chinese universities that was partially funded by the Chinese Ministry of Education. It was nominated a Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence by the European Commission in 2005. The centre’s research focus is on European politics and external relations, European Economic and Monetary Union, European Community Law, and European social policy.
