Andreas Eriksen is a postdoctoral fellow at ARENA Centre for European Studies. His main areas of interest are philosophical studies of moral responsibility, professional judgment, and public reason. His work includes articles on the nature of role moralities, the meaning of professional virtue, and the justification of welfare policy. Among his recent publications are 'Reclaiming Responsibility: The Case of Welfare-to-Work Policy' in Journal of Social Policy, 2018, and 'Beyond Professional Duty: Does Supererogation Belong to the Morality of Roles?' in International Journal of Applied Philosophy, 2015.
Eriksen holds a B.A. from the University of Tromsø and an M.A. from the University of Oslo. He has been a visiting scholar at the University of Konstanz. He earned a Ph. D. in the study of professions at Oslo and Akershus University College.
