Johanne Døhlie Saltnes

Postdoctoral Fellow, ARENA Centre for European Studies, University of Oslo

Johanne D. Saltnes is a Postdoctoral Fellow at ARENA Centre for European Studies. She holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Oslo and a MA in International Relations from Webster University, Vienna, Austria.

Her research focuses on political conditionality in the EU’s cooperation agreements with countries from the Africa, Caribbean and Pacific group of states (ACP). In her current research, she analyses why the EU avoids aid-sanctions in situations where they could have been implemented. Main academic interests include the EU Common Foreign and Security Policy with special emphasis on the EU’s trade and development policy, political dialogue and sanctions.
