Ivor Sarakinsky

Senior Lecturer, Wits School of Governance

Ivor Sarakinsky is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Governance and holds a PhD in Political Studies from the University of the Witwatersrand.

His teaching and research interests include political philosophy, comparative and South African politics, public governance and the green economy. He has worked in the public service as a Chief Director in the Economic Development Department and was responsible for coordinating green economy policy processes. He was involved in processes leading up to COP 17 held in Ethekwini, South Africa in 2011. This applied experience in climate change and green economy policy informs his core research activity at the moment.
