Stefano Bianchini is Professor of Politics and History of Eastern Europe, at the University of Bologna. His main research fields include the Balkans, Russia and the EU; modernization, nationalism and processes of state partitions, as well as ethnic and minority problems of the South-Eastern Europe and the contestants of EU migration policy, with a focus on Russia. On these themes he authored 9 books, edited 22, and published over 70 articles and book chapters.
In addition, Stefano Bianchini has vast experience in international and EU-funded projects such as Tempus-phare (Romania; Bulgaria; Bosnia-Herzegovina; Macedonia; Albania; Croatia; Montenegro) and Tacis (Bosnia-Herzegovina), as well as with projects financed by the Italian Ministries of University and Education and Foreign Affairs. His research area within GLOBUS will be EU migration policies towards the Balkans and the Eastern European Neighbourhood, the contestants of EU migration policy (Focus: Russia).
